We Love Kids!
Have we mentioned that we love kids? Our office is a safe and fun place for pediatric eye care. Poor vision and poor binocular vision can cause many problems for kids if left untreated. Possible problems include: delays in child development, delayed learning, difficulty reading, headaches, eye strain, poor concentration, fatigue, behavioral issues, poor social interaction, poor social skill development, lazy eye, eye turns, permanent vision loss or reduction in vision for one or both eyes.
Children often do not complain about having poor sight or symptoms because they are unaware of how their vision and ocular comfort should be. Fortunately, most of these ocular problems are correctable if diagnosed and treated in time. In addition, children’s eyes grow and develop quickly, so it is important to have regular pediatric eye care with a pediatric eye specialist.
When should your child have a pediatric eye exam?
Ages 8-12 months
At this exam we look for abnormal eye movements, big ocular health problems, and prescriptions that are outside of normal range for this age group. If problems are found, we have great solutions to help your infants eyes develop normally. This exam is sponsored by InfantSEE and is provided at no charge to you…. That’s right… It’s Free.
During these exams, we monitor how your toddler’s eyes develop and correct any problems before they start school. This is also a crucial age range to correct any existing amblyopia before vision loss becomes permanent.
Vision is essential for learning and development so it is important for school age children to see well. During these yearly exams, we check for vision changes and eye health as your child’s eyes grow bigger.
